We are experts
in the creation and use of moving logo projections to bring your corporate
or club logo to life. There are a number of ways to achieve this and
the best method will depend upon the circumstances of usage. The most
basic form of movement is a rotating logo, or one which moves across
the wall in a sweeping motion. These effects can be created using basic
logo projectors and can certainly be effective. It is, however, possible
to use a specialist logo projection unit such as the Imagescan which
offers full programmability, with up to 61 scenes or steps, of variable
length and movements. For instance, logos can rotate on floor for a
few seconds, disappear, reappear on the left hand wall of a room and
slowly sweep from there to the right hand corner of the room, rotate,
flash and so on. The beauty of these units is that they can be programmed
once and then left for unattended, other than being turned off at closing
time, and turned on at opening time again. These projectors do offer
a great range of options and can use either full colour or black and
white logos.
There are instances when a more powerful projector is required for usage
outdoors and over a longer distance. We have, for example, projected
moving logos onto Edinburgh Castle at night, and onto Loch Lomond visitors
centre. In general, for these jobs, we would use a heavy duty Solar
575 which can take the same gobo / logos as the most basic projectors
in our rental stock and can offer much the same functionality. Most
commonly we would use a simple static or slowly rotating logo, although
if required, it is possible to attach programmable moving mirror heads
which allow lateral and vertical movements in addition to rotation.
These units require a connected DMX controller to function if anything
other than a basic static or rotating gobo is desired.
Although outdoor projection is possible (it is only effective after
dark which is a very important point!), the projectors themselves would
generally not be sited outdoors as they are not weatherproof. There
are ways around this, such as siting them inside a vehicle, but we have
used private flats, shops, offices, covered balconies, temporary scaffolding
structures, etc in the past. If you have a location that you'd like
to project onto then we'd be happy to have a site visit and pinpoint
suitable sites. Another consideration is that, like all electrical equipment,
standard 240 Volt power is required. This is generally not a problem
as mains cables can be run as required from any available socket(s),
or if access is a problem, a portable generator can be used.
